We travelled up to Hartlepool Friday eve as to make sure we were there in the morning and we were staying literally minutes away from the wedding venue so that was defo a bonus!!!
I arrived at The Grand Hotel on Saturday morning bright & early to capture all the fun & laughter whilst all the girls were getting ready. Always love capturing this bit as its nice to shoot the build up to the wedding ceremony ( we always shoot a full day wedding ensuring we capture as much as poss )
After I had some time with all the girls I nipped off downstairs ( to the bar ) where John was getting ready into his navy uniform looking super smart! Huge shout to all the staff at The Grand Hotel too for making the day run smooth as silk!
The ceremony was held inside one of the rooms at The Grand Hotel so there was no need with cars and no time was lost getting from A to B as it were ( we could all stay nice & warm inside the hotel 😊 )
After the ceremony I always encourage lots of kisses & hugs and celebrations with the Bride & Groom ( don't like going straight into formal shots ) they also had some canopies & drinks arranged after the ceremony room was turned round. After about 10 mins or so as we were on a time limit to get family shots etc I suggested ( as the grand hotel doesn't have any grounds ) we went across the road to a nice area that I knew would work really well for the formal shots with nice natural light as the weather was defo on side especially for December ( thanks to everybody for cooperating and getting involved )
After some formal and fun shots I got Kat & John in the car and sneaked Leonie in too to help with light ( their 13 year old diva daughter ) as we had special permission to board the Trincomalee ( some info below ) to get some super gorgeous Bride & Groom shots ( so glad we did this guys )
HMS Trincomalee is now part of the
National Museum of the Royal Navy family, joining the prestigious heritage
fleet of that organisation alongside HMS Victory, HMS Alliance and HMS
Caroline.
She is the oldest warship afloat anywhere
in the world*, berthed at Jackson Dock, within The National Museum of the Royal
Navy Hartlepool.
Visit HMS Trincomalee in Hartlepool, near
Durham in North East England and step into our history. Experience life on board
this fast, sleek fighting machine, the most advanced of her age, manned by a
breed of hardy sailors well used to the long months at sea and able to fight
like lions. Little wonder that they were known as 'wooden ships and iron men'.
What an absolutely fab fun filled wedding day and a massive thanks to Kat & John for booking us plus all the friends & family for making us feel so welcome in Geordie Land.
