Wentbridge House Wedding Photography - Charlotte & Ben

A few days before Xmas day and I was back at the gorgeous Wentbridge House for Charlotte & Bens Xmas wedding, the weather really was looking great and not too cold at all plus no sign of any rain! #bonus

I started up in one of the bridal suites (with Jordan as he was videoing) with all the crazy girls getting ready and i really love this time as it allows us to get to know the girls better in a more natural fun environment. After some time with the girls I hooked up with Ben and the guys downstairs to get some shots around the xmas tree and the grounds before heading back up to see the girls getting their dresses on and to capture some final shots before they headed downstairs where Ben and everyone was waiting patiently inside the Leatham Suite

After the ceremony I always like to encourage all the wedding party on to the grounds is it defo looks awesome in pics and is maintained daily by Brian the Gardener.

The reception was inside the Chrystal Suite and speeches were first before everybody enjoyed some time to warm up slightly and enjoy the gorgeous food (we take a little break at this time too)

After the speeches and food we all had a nice surprise a magician turned up (he was meant to be at Wentbridge the day before but they had given him the wrong date so we got a freebie magic show) then I got Charlotte & Ben outside for some after dark shots using the folly before a wedding guests and family came to see what we were doing so we just freestyled (like you do) and got some shots with cigars and bottles of fizz flying everywhere!

Fab day and fab night and thanks for letting us share you day, also thanks for inviting Mrs Image-i-Nation :-)

A few randomly selected highlights below

Enjoy

Adam Ant I Roundhouse 19th December 2018

On Wednesday morning we set off down to London as we had 2 tickets for the absolute legend that is Adam Ant (if you didn't already know I have been a HUGE fan for about 40 years, yeah since I was about 10 and created a facebook group over 2 years ago now, link below)

Adam and the Ants Facebook Group click HERE

We arrived at Kings Cross mid day and our hotel was walking distance just up Euston Road so after a quick drop off of minimal luggage we had a drink across the road in a local pub before going back to get ready to catch a taxi into Camden to Roundhouse.

We arrived at Roundhouse about 5pm ish and instantly saw loads of fans inside the bar area so it was so nice to see some of the fans in person (who are also in our fb group, I felt quite like a celebrity as quite a few kept coming up and asking if I was Kev)

Across the road from Roundhouse was a small Sainsburys so as I really wanted to get a good spot at the front as we had standing inside Roundhouse we went over and just got some nibbles to stand in the queue for about 90 mins (glad it wasn't raining) and got chatting to some fans in the queue (should have brought a bluetooth speaker to pump some ant music while waiting :-/)

We got let into Roundhouse about 6.30ish and then after a quick search waited until the doors were open upstairs so make our way in. The support act Babyteeth were fab too with lots of energy and banter with the crowd

Adam and the band came on around 9pm ish and wow what a welcome! I literally have no words to say how much I enjoyed the show and really hope they come back real soon

Below we have a some pics from a Panasonic TZ100 camera (which your allowed in as its a fixed lens) also below the camera pics are some random phone pics

Any ANT fans please enjoy we love ADAM ANT and all the band!

Wentbridge House Wedding Photography I Amy & Tom

A few weeks ago I was back at the awesome Wentbridge House for Amy & Tom's really Autumn feeling wedding as it was a Saturday and Brian the Gardener had the day off so loving all the gorgeous colours with the leaves on the grounds at Wentbridge House

I met up with the girls early morning with a nice relaxed fun vibe going on too in one of the upstairs rooms in the new build area overlooking the grounds so we could spy on the guests arriving too :-)

After some time with Amy and the girls I hooked up with Tom and the guys downstairs to get some shots on the grounds before they all headed into the bar area to have a few drinks to calm the nerves. The ceremony was inside the Leatham Suite and it really looked great with all the lovely deco all around.

After the ceremony we all headed outside in the beautiful light on the gorgeous looking autumn filled grounds to capture as many family & friends shots as poss before I had some time with Amy & Tom as the wedding party were encouraged in for a receiving line before they all sat down to literally fill the boots!

Amy & Tom also had a firework display planned for later in the eve so was really looking forward to that and just before I managed to get some low light back lit shots using the folly

Awesome wedding and huge thanks to Amy & Tom for booking us

Below we have some randomly selected highlights, enjoy

Culture Club at Leeds Arena

Last few randomly out of the blue we got a phone cal from a close friend asking if we would like to come to Leeds Arena to see Culture Club, Belinda Carlise & Tom Bailey from the Thompson Twins the next day (now thats what you call fab friends) hell yeah we said

So after a quick call to Leeds Arena to check it was ok to take a pocket camera with a fixed lens (they said yes no probs) we set off the next day to Leeds Arena (having already sorted parking out nearby) wow what an atmosphere, the arena was totally full and it was great so see some eighties legends still rocking and sounding absolutely fantastic too!

Here are a few pics randomly chosen, sorry for the quality we were quite far back and it was only a Panasonic TZ100 (great little camera though)

Wentbridge House Wedding Photography I Liz & Nigel

A double wedding midweek special a few weeks ago back at the fab Wentbridge House and I met up with Liz early morning and the awesome Bow & Blush girls on hair & make up duties (great to see you again guys, leonard says hi too)

The weather looked great too and no sign of any rain #bonus. I always love to capture the getting ready vibes and in a more natural and fun way with minimal posing.

After some time with the girls I met Nigel downstairs with his best man and some of the guys all getting acquainted outside so thought this was great to get some shots outside and hanging around in the bar area whilst some of the guests arrive before heading back up to Liz's room to see the girls getting in their dresses and awaiting the registrars.

The ceremony was held in the Leatham suite at Wentbridge House and I loved the rustic & cosy feel to it with all the decorations around. After the ceremony I encouraged everyone outside to make the best of the gorgeous grounds and got as many shots as possible of family & friends plus some time with Liz & Nigel before everyone was shown inside to be seated for the reception and speeches.

The reception was also inside the Leatham suite with a huge table in the middle and everybody sat around which did give a more friendly feel to it 😊

Landscape/Cityscape Photography Yorkshire

As I absolutely LOVE our home town of Yorkshire and love being behind the camera, something that has been on the to do list for quite a while now was to get into some landscape and cityscape photography plus some low light photography using 30 second exposures.

Last weekend I was in York so decided to bob the tripod in the car and camera and hey maybe I might just get the odd pic whilst there?

Defo glad I did and the York images are from last weekend (quite chuffed with them actually) plus some favs from recent months

I just love seeing the light and waiting for the right moment and when it all comes together you just get some absolutely fab stuff, hopefully try to build on this too

Hope you enjoy a few below

Lifestyle Photography I Ward Family Shoot

Last Sunday I met up with a fun loving family in Goole for a Lifestyle Family shoot at their very own (in the process) barn conversion, wow check out all the land Kev! They were currently living in a mobile home (looked fab too inside) on their land as the barn conversion was in the process and we had absolutely stacks of places for awesome fun pics all around, bit like a kid in a sweet shop really!

After a quick brew and a chat to get to know them a little bit better I popped some wellies on and we just wandered around the garden area before moving in and around the barn conversion area just making memories with this gorgeous family

Wentbridge House Wedding Photography I Amy & Jordan

Back at the fab Wentbridge House a few weeks ago with the fun loving Amy & Jordan for their mid week wedding in the gorgeous autumn vibe all around, how awesome is autumn for shooting weddings?

I started early morning with Amy and all the girls getting ready upstairs in the new rooms overlooking the fab grounds before Jordan arrived and i went down to get some time with all the guys (looking forward to seeing Ralphie again too (their cute doggie) as he was coming for the ceremony)

The wedding ceremony was in the Leatham Suite and i loved the autumn theme and the lovely colours used to decorate it. I think the star of the ceremony was defo Ralphie though (sorry guys).
After the ceremony I always like to get the whole wedding party to stay outside as long as possible to allow me to capture lots of memories in the time allowed (never seems to be enough).

It really is always so nice to come back to Wentbridge House too as we really are very familiar with all the staff and know lots of places to create fab pics in the grounds plus all around the village

After the reception I also managed to get some lowlight night time shots with Amy & Jordan in and around the folly too then it was setting up our S U P ER W I D E photobooth backdrop and captured all the dancing till late into the eve with the legend that is Winston the DJ, love a good dance off too 😊

315 Lepton Wedding Photographer - Gemma & Scott

Lovely Autumn weather for Gemma & Scott's wedding at 315 Lepton a few weeks ago with gorgeous colours all around the grounds when I arrived to hook up with all the girls getting ready (always love to catch this part to build the story of the day)

I shot Gemma & Scott's pre shoot up at Castle Hill and was really hoping I got a chance to get them back up there later on in the day for some gorgeous sunset wedding pics too 😁

The day really was lots of fun and the sun was shining (I was always looking for the shade to keep that nice diffused light but sometimes there wasn't anywhere boohoo). I always encourage the wedding party to try to stay in one area when we are doing the pics as it really makes things a lot easier rather than running after trying to find people and everybody really did help out with this so thanks guys!

The ceremony was at 315 Lepton too which meant there was no travelling which gave us more time for pics (never enough time)

After the speeches and reception I got Gemma & Scott  (and assistant in the form of Kyran Gemmas Brother) in the car and tripped off to Castle Hill and as expected we really did get some epic sunset  shots though I did fancy staying a bit longer 😊

Lots of fun & laughter and a dance off to Donald wheres your Trousers (don't ask) in the eve

Coniston Hotel Wedding Photographer - Carol & Lee

A few weeks ago I was back at Coniston Hotel for Carol & Lee's wedding. I started early morning with Zoe Ann 2nd shooting and the weather looked well a bit grim tbf it was slightly drizzly and the sky was totally grey (insert sad face)

This defo didn't stop the fun though and as we arrived we headed up to check in with all the girls getting ready (big shout out to the friendly lady running the wedding for being so helpful) before giving them some time as we both went down about 1 hour before the ceremony to see Lee trying to not look nervous.

Coniston Hotel ceremony room has a really lovely rustic feel with open wooden beams above so throughout the ceremony as we had 2 photographers we could cover a lot more angles with Zoe Ann at the back capturing everybody coming in and Kev at the front throughout the service.

After the service everybody was ushered into the conservatory area (as the weather really was quite bad and defo would be hard to get everybody outside though I did get a 5 min break so rounded everyone up, quickly outside for a big group shot as I knew it was now or never and we wouldn't get another chance)

We captured lots of shots inside the conservatory area before everyone entered the reception room to enjoy the speeches and tasty food and we sat down in the main room overlooking the lake for some food and to check through our shots so far

After the speeches they had organised for us to go down to the lake (it had stopped raining for a bit at this point) and we all hopped into the Coniston Land Rover and drove down to get some shots by the lake area (great spot for pics)

As we retired we set up our super wide photobooth backdrop inside the conservatory area to get some crazy fun type photobooth images and this worked really well too as the dance floor was literally in the adjoining room

Massive fun all day and thanks again to Zoe Ann for assisting

Hollins Hall Wedding Photography - Carol & Darren

A few weeks ago I was back at the fab Hollins Hall in Baildon for Carol & Darrens FUN Wedding. I started just down the road from us in sunny Cleckheaton to capture all the girly getting ready vibe at Carol & Darrens home before I headed up the road to St Lukes Church on the main road through Cleckheaton to see Darren and the guys waiting patiently outside in the glorious sunshine (really was hoping for some clouds later to give me some of that good light)
A quick chat with the really friendly vicar too and all was good as we waited for the arrival of the bridesmaids and Carol in the gorgeous wedding cars.

After the ceremony (another big shout out to the fab vicar) I tried to capture as many shots just outside the church before everyone headed over to Hollins Hall to carry on the fun in the sun!

Carol & Darren had the most amazing (and friendly) band outside singing for everybody too whilst I cracked on with some more shots like you do before as always time seemed to run away with us and everybody was ushered upstairs to be seated for the reception meal and speeches. Doesn't always happen but I got the full meal (gawwgeous food) and got chatting to a couple of the band Lizy & the Crescendos (looking forward to seeing them again at Jeremys in Brighouse next Sat)

The eve party was in a different room downstairs and after the meal many guests made their way downstairs to chill in the bar/lounge area whilst I took Carol & darren for a little walk around the gorgeous grounds to get a few shots of them (never like to turn this into a too structured photoshoot much prefer the relaxed fun approach)

In the eve (i think i am well known for it now) it was defo a time for some kind of dance off so a quick chat with lizy (the singer) and the fab DJ with all his gadgets (love the mic with voice changer I could have had hours of fun with that) we had a rap battle, yes a rap battle!!!

Fab day and night and below we have some randomly selected images form the previews that have been online for a while now

Enjoy

Brighouse Wedding Photographer - Steph & Ken at Holiday Inn

The 2nd of a double wedding weekend with Steph & Ken at The Holiday Inn Brighouse. I started bright and early with all the girls getting ready in one of the rooms and the weather was a defo improvement from the previous day (no rain at all)

The morning was really relaxed too as all the girls got ready in the same rooms and we had some really great window light coming through the big windows overlooking the front gardens of Holiday Inn. As Ken was also getting ready in the same hotel with his guys I hooked up with them when I could to capture some guy getting ready shots and Ken and the best man looking a little bit nervous at the thought of their speeches.

The ceremony was in the main room at Holiday Inn which splits in half and also is the reception room for later. After the ceremony I encouraged everyone into the courtyard to get as many group and family shots as possible before they all sat down for the reception. After a few tables moved around I made a great space to capture a full group shot and standing on a nearby chair (like you do) to get everybody in the frame

After the reception meal & speeches I had a little time outside the hotel grounds with Steph & Ken and the eve was very relaxed too which did give me chance for some gorgeous eve sunset shots over The Holiday Inn

Dancing late into the eve and below we have some randomly selected highlights from Steph & Ken's fun wedding day

Enjoy

Woodlands Wedding Photographer - Val & Steve

Last month I was back at the gorgeous Woodlands in Leeds for Val & Steve's FUN (defo a fun day) wedding though it was a little (lot) wet but that didn't stop the fun & laughter and lots of banter!

I started at Woodlands with all the crazy girls getting ready upstairs in the double room, loads of space to move around too #bonus

The ceremony was held in the village of Coley Halifax so as the girls were ready I set off to park outside the church to meet with all the guys and hopefully get some shots of guests arriving but as it was peeing it down they were all inside (don't blame them)

A quick chat with the very friendly vicar plus he showed me the balcony area I could use if I wanted through the service 😃 and I awaited Val's arrival in the cars provided by Westfields Cars of Meltham Huddersfield

After the service (as it was still raining) I suggested some family shots inside the church to get some in the bag so to speak so if we didn't get any better weather all day at least I had something. After some time inside the church and a confetti shot outside in the rain (thanks guys your awesome) we all headed over to Woodlands Leeds to carry on the fun

Always on weather watch and I did get about 10 mins to get a group shot outside before it started raining again 😂

Stacks of fun & craziness ALL DAY and massive thanks to Val & Steve plus ALL their family & friends for really being EPIC!

Below I have some randomly selected highlights from the previews which are online HERE

English Wedding Awards 2018

Yeeeeey we have been nominated again for the English Wedding Awards 2018

"Dear Kev,

I am delighted to inform you that Image-i-Nation Photography has been shortlisted into the finals under Photographer of the year category in the Yorkshire region at The 3rd English Wedding Awards – Congratulations!

The English Wedding Awards aim to recognise and reward those within the wedding industry that work towards making a special day perfect. Awards are designed to recognise the efforts of the caterer that provides the delicious reception meal, the DJ or band that adds the extra thrill to the atmosphere, or maybe the hair & makeup artist that made a bride to look and fell on top of the world on this special day. Awards allow us to come together and show the gratitude to those in the wedding industry"

The prestigious and glamorous award ceremony will be held at on the 21st of November 2018 at the Mercure Hotel in Manchester

We will defo be attending the event and look forward to meeting up with other businesses in the wedding industry whether we win or not (be nice to win though)
Part of being nominated is also for you to showcase and provide evidence of why you think you should have a good chance of winning so here goes....😊

I started shooting weddings over 10 years ago now and at the beginning had a full time job at the same time. As weddings started to increase plus various other stuff like Lifestyle shoots things did become very difficult (the main job weren't very helpful or understanding if i booked a midweek wedding or sometimes even on a Saturday they expected us to work 6 days a week) but all my passion as time went on was shooting weddings as I loved every single minute from the girly getting ready to crazy dance offs on the dance floor (you usually find me on the dance floor)

As time progressed I really did get my own style of Wedding Photography by (i know this sounds a bit corny) just being myself, doing minimal structured formal posing so our couples really did enjoy their wedding day so much more plus injecting my personality into each wedding with lots of energy and FUN!

I LOVE to shoot weddings and really just favour lots of fun whilst capturing the wedding day in a more journalistic, natural vibe so when our couples crawl into bed after a super long day they really do have awesome memories of their special day, oh and the pics ain't too bad either

Below we have a few of our fav shots from the last 12 months of awesome fun weddings, whatever the weather we really do make every wedding lots of fun as you can see plus some screenshots of latest reviews plus a LINK to our FB page REVIEWS HERE

Enjoy and we have our fingers crossed for the English Wedding Awards 2018

Wentbridge House Engagement Photography - Charlotte & Ben

Yesterday I met up with Charlotte & Ben at Wentbridge House to go through upcoming wedding info plus get some nice relaxed and defo fun shots as we got to know each other better (we met them initially in Jan 2017 when they booked their special day with us), they had also brought along their cute doggie 'Florrie' 😀

The grounds looked gorgeous and really great autumn light all around and lovely autumn colours too as I initially got some shots of the folly and grounds with the super wide 16-35 lens until I heard Charlotte shouting "Kev" 😜 as they walked down from the top car park with Florrie

I always seem to get a feel when I meet our couples for the pre shoot how they feel, are they nervous or not and I defo knew these guys were ready to rock and up for anything I asked.

Our pre shoots are more structured as I try to make them as fun and relaxed as poss but obviously you have to keep giving directions to create fab pics (if you kinda enjoy the pre shoot with us you will defo enjoy the wedding as the story unfolds I just capture as much as poss with minimal fuss and lots of fun) check our REVIEWS HERE

After some time around the village of Wentbridge we all say down in the courtyard outside with Florrie really on her best behaviour (i think we had worn her out) to go through wedding info and just random chats

Below we have some highlights from Charlotte & Bens fun pre shoot yesterday

Enjoy
